I had coffee with a friend this morning, and we talked a lot about patience through the unknown, obedience when we are called, and perseverance through His plan. This might be one of my favorite discussions. Maybe it’s because I’m in my early twenties and everything seems so up in the air. I love it and I hate it. I love it because I love surprises and I love change. I hate it because I feel like I need to be more “established” than I am. It’s funny, I like not knowing what’s coming, but I try so hard to figure it out anyway. Truth is, it doesn’t matter. God has His plan for you. His perfect Will. All we have to do is obey His call. It’s all in His hands… Now, that I REALLY love. -ash

“Knowing and understanding God’s intimate knowledge of you and His sovereignty in your life will bring profound peace and satisfaction deep within your soul.

Read Psalm 139: 13-18

All the days of your life were ordained for you, every one of them was known by God. He formed you in your mother’s womb. Not only did He know exactly what you would look like, as He handpicked every characteristic, but He also knew the day, the hour, and the minute of your birth.

He knows your every day before you will live it. In fact, He has a plan and a purpose for each of our lives, down to the smallest detail_even numbering the hairs on our head at any given moment (Matthew 10:29-30). He has known and planned every day, every hour, every moment of your life; not one thing has escaped His notice and purpose.

Even knowing these truths, are there things about yourself you don’t understand? Are there things that have happened during your life that you find difficult to accept, let alone be thankful for?

Even when we know that God is sovereign, we need to be honest about our struggles with His plan for us. Take time to think through these things and then ask the Lord to help you entrust everything to Him.

The Bible tells us that before the foundation of the world, God chose us in Christ Jesus. We are His and He chose us with eternity in mind. He loved you long, long ago. He chose you not because you were more special than anyone else, but because of His perfect wisdom and infinite love. He has carefully watched over you every day since you were just a glimmer in His eye.

In Romans 8:28-29, we learn that He has been causing all things to work together for good in your life and forming you into the image of His son. There is no greater joy than to know this love and to believe in it to the very depth of your soul, and then walk in it.

Choose one scripture from today that the Lord is using to renew your mind and transform your heart. Take this truth to heart and bring it to life throughout your day.”

Romans 8: 28-29:

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.”
