This past week, my coworker, Kate DeTar and I experienced the commercial interiors industry’s most important annual event, NeoCon. It’s an experience that brings together the right people, the best products, and the most innovative ideas of 2015. It’s like when you finally see old friends again and you run up and squeeze their guts out in the form of a hug. I may have done that to the George Nelson Marshmallow Sofa, along with every single piece in the Haworth showroom (insert mind blown emoticon). Sometimes your so blown away that you just need to stop and stare. Other times your so thrilled to be walking among such beautiful things that you become hysterical and throw yourself into the various sofas and acoustical panels. It’s embarrassing, I’m sure, but worth it. In any case, it is the premier platform for connecting, learning and doing business in the industry. It’s a three-day event that attracts nearly 50,000 design professionals and showcases more than 700 leading companies. The show launches thousands of new products and covers a spectrum of vertical markets including Workplace, Healthcare, Hospitality, Retail, Education, Public Spaces, and Government.
